Customer Engineering Manager
The Customer Engineering Manager is the technical representative of the customer(s) assigned in Engineering. Focus on customer satisfaction, manage AS100 engineering deliverables and supports quotes following 1P1P roadmap and VEVA initiatives.
Customer Engineering Manager is the first management level for technical related issues and coordinates with CPM technical issues affecting their customer(s).
What you’ll do:
- Resource management - Drive clear driving clear expectations, accountability and ownership to our team members. Resolve conflicts - escalate as needed.
- Creating / Validating Product Design for Seatbelts. Driving on time performance with quality deliverables.
- Working with the customer to negotiate their requirements vs. Autoliv standard design/processes. Balance between easy to manufacture and meeting customer needs. Understanding customer specifications and ensuring product is designed/validated accordingly. Driving the design to meet 1P1P expectations.
- PSC/ Quoting
- Ensure BOM and tech presentation is complete
- Drive focus and priority to resolve top issues quickly following a disciplined problem solving methodology with completion
- Grow team members and ensure business continuity in the team.
What is required:
- BS Engineering (Mechanical Mechatronic or similar)
- 10 years of experience in Seatbelt Component Design, Product Design, Leadership/Management, Customer negotiation, design for manufacturing
- Business acumen in all that we do - driving decisions to impact the bottom line
- Proactive cross functional engagement and collaboration - horizontal leadership
- Mentoring and Training skills
- Product Experience (Seatbelts)
- AS034, AS100 and AS007 processes
- Ability to understand manufacturing needs
- Die cast, Injection Molding, Stamping, Assy
- Interpreting CAE Results
- Problem Solving Skills
- Continuous Improvement
- Negotiation Skills
