Health Safety and Sustainability Technician
The HSE&S Technician operates in a dynamic operational environment where maintaining compliance, preventing incidents, and influencing safe behaviors are constant challenges. The role requires balancing operational demands with strict regulatory requirements, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring consistent application of HSE&S standards across shifts, contractors, and work areas.
Key challenges include:
Ensuring frontline adherence to HSE&S procedures in a fast-paced operational setting.
Supporting incident prevention and investigation while meeting production and business objectives.
Maintaining regulatory compliance amid evolving legal and corporate standards.
Driving employee and contractor engagement in safety and sustainability initiatives.
In this role you will be responsible to:
Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and behavioral observations
Support implementation of safe work procedures, permits, and lockout/tagout processes
Assist with incident, near-miss, and hazard investigations, including root cause analysis
Track corrective and preventive actions to closure
Support emergency preparedness and response activities.
Assist in monitoring environmental compliance (waste management, emissions, spills, resource use).
Support sustainability initiatives such as energy efficiency, waste reduction, and recycling programs.
Perform environmental inspections and support reporting requirements.
Support in safety inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness training.
Support contractor onboarding and HSE&S compliance monitoring.
Identify hazards, risks, and improvement opportunities in daily operations.
Support implementation of corrective actions and improvement projects.
Participate in HSE&S meetings and cross-functional initiatives.
What is required:
H&S / Environmental / Hyhiene (or related discipline) or equivalent technical background.
HSE Regulatory & Standards requirements.
ISO14001 / ISO45001 Management System.
Microsoft Apps.
Hazard Identification & Risk Management.
Incident Prevention, Investigation & Learning.
Emergency Preparedness & Response.
Training & Workforce Engagement
Ability to work collaboratively in a remote, cross-functional environment
