Customer Engineering Manager is the technical representative of the customer(s) assigned in Engineering. Focus on customer satisfaction, manage AS100 and AS007 engineering deliverables and supports quotes following 1P1P roadmap and VEVA initiatives.
Customer Engineering Manager is the first management level for technical related issues and coordinates with CPM technical issues affecting their customer(s).
What you’ll do:
- Works with CPM and Serial Life Manager on customer approvals for AS7 management, including VEVA
- Delivers application projects based on 1P1P roadmaps
- Manages technical escalation when necessary.
- Supports the Business Unit in quote processes (AS034).
- Ensures application of established engineering standards and processes.
- Leverages application engineering team workload.
- Executes Divisional and Global internal strategies (1P1P, Eng4.0, VEVA…) towards the customer.
- Collaboration with Advanced Technical Sales team on customer technical strategy.
- Supports improvement plans within engineering engaging with the Engineering 4.0 team and APS.
- Resource management - improve correlation between prediction and actual. drive clear priorities to our team members. Resolve conflicts - escalate as needed.
- Creating / Validating Product Design for Steering Wheel and Driver Airbag
- Working with the customer to negotiate styling vs. Autoliv standard design/processes. Balance between easy to manufacture and meeting customer needs. Understanding customer specifications and ensuring product is designed/validated accordingly. Driving the design to meet 1P1P expectations.
- PSC/ Quoting – Ensure BOM and tech presentation is complete
What is required:
- BS Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronic or similar)
- 10+ years of related experience
- Automotive Interior Class A Component Design, Product Design
- DAB Leadership/Management
- Customer negotiation
- Design for manufacturing
- English fluent in writing and vocal
- Mentoring and training Engineers
- Product Experience (SW/ DAB); AS034 Process; AS100 Process; AS007 Process
- Ability to understand manufacturing needs: Die cast, RIM, Injection Molding, Stamping, Assy
- Interpreting CAE Results
- Problem Solving Skills
