This is a high-impact divisional management role responsible for overseeing all airbag module launches across the organization. The position plays a critical role in aligning launch activities with the AAM Automation Roadmap, ensuring successful implementation of highly flexible, low-labor production cells. The role requires strategic planning, cross-functional collaboration, and strong influence without direct authority
What you’ll do:
- Lead and coordinate all airbag module launch activities across the division.
- Collaborate closely with Product Family Team (PFT) Leaders to ensure End-to-End planning and execution.
- Review and challenge new program quotes to ensure expected financial payback.
- Drive development and implementation of new automation equipment aligned with divisional strategy.
- Facilitate workshops and planning sessions to support launch and automation initiatives.
- Champion the Airbag Automation Forum and lead strategic discussions.
- Monitor and support post-launch activities including equipment follow-up and performance tracking.
- Build and maintain dotted-line relationships across cross-functional teams to influence outcomes.
- Connect and collaborate with global PLA teams to ensure alignment and knowledge sharing.
- Promote capital reduction through increased cell utilization and automation efficiency.
- Maintain and advance the automation roadmap for airbag modules.
What is required:
- Bachelor’s degree required. Preference will be given to candidates who hold a degree in Engineering.
- A minimum of 10 yrs of profssional experience, including at least 5 yrs leading teams and launching new programs in industrial engineering, process engineering, or quality engineering.
- Strong self-management and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel skills preferred.
- Familiarity with ICAN, ADIS, AMIS, and PLM systems a plus
- Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate global collaboration.
