We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented controller to support the Division Controller/Finance Director in managing all divisional accounting activities. This role requires a CPA-qualified professional who will act as the primary legal entity controller for the US entity, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting expertise, excellent leadership abilities, and the capacity to manage the day-to-day financial operations of the US legal entity while assisting with broader divisional finance matters. Additionally, this role will play a key part in supporting the growth of the shared services center and driving account evaluation and optimization initiatives across product lines.
What you’ll do:
- Assist the Division Controller & FP&A Finance Director in overseeing overall divisional accounting and financial reporting activities.
- Serve as the primary controller for the US legal entity, responsible for all entity-level accounting operations, month-end close, financial statements, and compliance.
- Ensure adherence to US GAAP, corporate policies, and regulatory requirements, including SEC reporting if applicable.
- Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Coordinate and liaise with external auditors and tax advisors during audits and tax filings for the US entity.
- Manage and develop a team of accounting professionals supporting US entity operations.
- Monitor and enforce internal controls and SOX compliance specific to the US entity and other entities within Americas division, in collaboration with Head of Controls.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities at the divisional level.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to ensure accurate financial data and timely reporting.
- Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations.
- Support the growth and operational expansion of the divisional shared services center, facilitating smooth transition and scalability of accounting functions.
- Lead evaluation and continuous review of all divisional accounts to identify opportunities for optimization and standardization across product lines, promoting efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
What is required:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, including controlling or senior accounting roles.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SOX compliance, and experience managing legal entity financials.
- Experience in divisional or multi-entity accounting environments is highly desirable.
- Proven experience supporting or leading shared services initiatives and process optimization projects.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient with ERP systems and financial reporting tools (e.g. JDE, OneStream) and advanced Excel modeling.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail.
- Proven leadership and team management abilities, with prior supervisory experience.
- Availability to work on site 60% of the time
