Transformation Director, Engineering Autoliv Americas
The RDE Transformation Leader is responsible to proactively drive execution through the organization by challenging the status quo in the RDE organization. This will include supporting other RDE Directors, facilitating RDE Leadership Team (LT) meetings and content, and most importantly to drive and monitor progress to targets, intervene to close gaps and motivate through strong communication and collaboration skills to meet stretch targets.
The expectations for results/deliverables are very clear and challenging. The deliverables will include bottom line progress and transformation of the RDE organization from a cost center to a profit center, engineering efficiency support to enable an evolution on the way of working to meet future needs, and drive of consistency in ways of working across technology, sites, technical centers, etc to be the best in the industry.
The most critical stakeholders of the role include the VP Engineering and members of the RDE Leadership Team.
What you’ll do:
- Accelerate project progress, update senior management, and maintain strong senior stakeholder relationships
- Own responsibility for key management decision materials, e.g., financial viability of business cases/ investment cases
- Establish a “continuous improvement” and innovation mindset within the Engineering function
- Responsible to run report out sessions to ensure delivery of results with an established frequency.
- Evidence in demonstration of meeting deliverable must be shown in the bottom line and in a consistent cadence.
- Any off-track deliverables must have containment plans to clearly demonstrate strong recovery plans, outlined execution plans with the expectation to close performance gaps in a timely manner.
Key/core/essential responsibilities and activities include, but are not limited to;
Leading the Steering Committee content preparation, content delivery and meeting coordination; monitoring project performance to plan, defining and measuring recovery plan effectiveness and communicating overall Strategy performance to plan.
This person will also have a key role as an advisor to each Project Sponsor and Direct Responsible Individual (DRI) to connect activities to financial performance benefits.
What is required:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree, Engineering background preferred. MBA preferred
- Large-scale transformations in automotive preferable
- Top tier consulting experience and/or toolbox in similar situations is important
- 15+ years of relevant experience
- Transformation experience with emphasis on operations, engineering, supply chain and finance.
- Must be expert in financial modeling and PowerPoint slide creation.
- Strong team management skills, with the ability to mobilize teams and stakeholders towards the overall targets
- Must be Self-driven
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively engage with senior stakeholders
- Must be an expert in storytelling through PowerPoint and proficient in Excel.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on identifying potential risks and implementing effective solutions
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage own a teams’ tasks and priorities effectively
- Business acumen and project management are a must.
- Knowledge of global supply chains would be helpful.
- Willingness to travel, willingness to work off-hours and willingness to do whatever it takes to deliver the Strategy.
