Logistics Health Safety & Sustainability Supervisor
The Autoliv Logistics Health, Safety & Sustainability Supervisor will oversee HSS operations across multiple warehouse sites, with the primary location in Ogden, Utah, and secondary sites in Columbia City, Indiana, and Olive Branch, Mississippi. This role is responsible for leading safety initiatives, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supervising day-to-day risk management activities across multiple warehouse locations.
What you’ll do:
- Supervise and coordinate health, safety, and sustainability (HSS) programs across multiple warehouse operations.
- Identify and mitigate operational risks, lead safety audits, ergonomic assessments, and hazard evaluations.
- Oversee implementation and compliance of safety programs including PPE, forklift safety, LOTO, and GHS.
- Manage incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans.
- Act as primary site liaison for OSHA and EPA; maintain OSHA logs and oversee injury claim processes.
- Ensure compliance with industrial hygiene standards, hazardous materials handling, and environmental regulations.
- Lead safety training programs, emergency response planning, and readiness inspections for new equipment.
- Oversee the handling of workplace injury claims in collaboration with workers’ compensation representatives, including the entry and tracking of claims.
- Ensure adherence to hot work permitting procedures and related communications.
- Deliver safety-related training, including new hire safety orientation and ongoing education.
- Conduct hazard and risk assessments (HRAs), machine guarding reviews, and ergonomic evaluations; recommend corrective actions.
- Develop and distribute customized HSS communications (e.g., newsletters, safety alerts, safety topics).
- Implement and track corrective actions resulting from facility risk management audits.
- Participate in facility staff meetings to communicate safety priorities and updates to site leadership.
- Lead the ISO14001 Environmental Management System (EMS) team as the site EMS representative.
- Ensure waste profiles meet DOT and TSDF requirements; manage hazardous waste documentation and disposal.
Drive environmental sustainability initiatives aimed at reducing carbon emissions and improving resource efficiency.
What is required:
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Health and Environment (OSH&E), Occupational Health or Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in a health, safety, and environmental (HSE) role within a technical or industrial setting.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across departments to identify and resolve safety risks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work closely with operations teams to improve compliance and performance.
- Proven leadership and team coordination capabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to foster accountability for safety and promote a zero-incident culture.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Experience interpreting regulatory requirements and developing strategic safety initiatives to ensure compliance.
- Lead and coordinate all sustainability, health and safety audits for the sites
- Maintain all regulatory compliance permits and certifications timelines for renewal
