Operational Indirect Buyer
The operational buyer is the main contact for indirect purchasing with stakeholders, suppliers, and strategic buyers, he/she is responsible for negotiating the best commercial agreements with suppliers of indirect material, supported by Autoliv´s policies and code of ethics, the operational buyer solve problems and look for savings opportunities and participate actively to find VEVA opportunities to improve cost and process, as well to become a trusted advisor for the stakeholders.
What you’ll do:
Perform local purchasing according with strategies.
- Develop local suppliers in relation to risk, quality, and cost.
- Negotiate local and better commercial agreements.
- Review purchase requisitions and identify sources of supply for spot buys.
- Generate and manage POs in Autoliv system.
- Allocate Machining parts where better for the process
Drive Local sourcing initiatives.
- Market evaluations to review the competitiveness of the suppliers.
- Carry out tenders promoting equal participation of suppliers, validate information and analyze proposals.
- Develop negotiation strategies and lead supplier negotiations.
- Carry out visit with new and potential suppliers, to evaluate their capacities.
- Formalize commercial relationships with suppliers though contracts.
- Monitor the performance of the suppliers.
- Implement contracts agreements and new processes.
Act as a trusted advisor
- Main contact for indirect purchasing department with the facility.
- Advice internal stakeholders on procurement issues, providing support and guidance at all stages of the procurement cycle.
- Advice customers on modifications from original requests (if alternative, more cost efficient, or otherwise beneficial alternatives exists).
- Point of contact between suppliers, stakeholders, and strategic buyers
- Identify alternative suppliers to reduce the risk of lack of supply.
- Set up suppliers in the system.
- Work as a trusted advisor proposing the best option for the product or services.
- Process master catalog purchase orders, that meet the necessary times to avoid jeopardizing the operation of the plant.
- Identify key users in the facility to work as a team and generate savings opportunities.
- Work with production facilities to define, document and achieve shared savings targets.
Participate as required in global and regional strategic sourcing projects.
- Provide local market data and information to global strategic sourcing teams.
- Work in close collaboration with global category managers as well end users and global teams
- Track key performance indicators.
- Define and take corrective actions to improve contracts compliance.
What is required:
• Bachelor's in Supply Management or related or Engineering degree required
• Purchasing experience from 1- 5 years
• Negotiation skills
• Project Management
• Leadership skills to coordinate projects between suppliers, stakeholders, and strategic buyers
• Communication skills
• ERP Knowledge (JDE or related)
• Analytical skills
•Availability to work on site 60% of the time
