Industrial Engineering Director, Launch & Machine Build
The Director of Industrial Engineering and Machine Build will lead and manage a large functional group responsible for engineering and machine build operations across multiple countries. This role involves strategic planning, project management, and ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency in industrial processes and equipment fabrication.
Location: This position will be based in Ogden, Utah or Queretaro, Mexico.
What you’ll do:
- Contributing to the development and implementation of automation strategic goals and objectives. This involves aligning business strategy with operations objectives and identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Overseeing the entire industrial process to ensure that machine and equipment are manufactured efficiently, on time, and within budget. This includes planning machine building, seamless launch schedules, managing resources, and ensuring quality standards are met.
- Prepare and present reports on engineering activities, project status, and performance metrics to senior management.
- Meet budget commitments, operating plans, and policy deployment objectives. This includes monitoring expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and optimizing resource utilization. Managing MB Capital spend and reacting accordingly.
- Ensure environmental compliance and safety corporate goals are achieved.
- Lead, promote, educate and inspire the automation roadmap in regards to PFT Alignment, E2E Teams, Core Product and Process alignment, and high capital utilization meaning multiple customers and programs produced on standard lines.
- Guide the teams to improve Safety and Environmental goals with an objective of Zero incidents
- Provide leadership consistency in implementing best demonstrated practices across all areas of the group.
- Attend and align with Global Process Controls Committee (PCC) to influence divisional needs but meet Product Line goals and objectives
- Align divisional and global roles and responsibilities for Industrial Engineering, Machine Build, Technical Support, and Launch
- Dotted line support and accountability to Divisional Technical Support organizations in each production facility.
What is required:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years as a Manager in Engineering, Manufacturing or Program Management areas.
- Background: TS-16949, (IATF) TPM, APS, Six Sigma, JIT, Conflict resolution, Management. Certifications/Accreditations Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing concepts are preferred.
