Plant Controller
What you’ll do:
Financial Management: Overseeing all financial activities of the plant, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Ensuring accurate and timely financial statements and compliance with GAAP.
Strategic Partnering: Acting as a strategic partner to plant management, contributing to medium- and long-term planning, and supporting the overall business strategy.
Cost Control: Monitoring and controlling costs to ensure the plant operates efficiently. This includes analyzing cost variances, identifying opportunities, coaching leaders and teams and implementing cost-saving measures.
Operational Support: Collaborating with plant management to support operational goals. This involves working closely with production, supply chain, and engineering teams to align financial strategies with operational needs.
Inventory Management: Ensuring accurate inventory accounting and conducting regular inventory verification events. Collaborating with supply chain teams to optimize inventory levels and reduce costs.
Capital Expenditure: Planning, monitoring, and authorizing capital expenditures. Ensuring investments align with company strategies and are accurately recorded.
Compliance and Audit: Ensuring compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements, and other regulatory standards. Preparing for and successfully passing internal and external audits.
Team Leadership: Leading and developing the finance team at the plant. Create a culture strong performance, continuous improvement. Ensures the team has the necessary skills and resources.
Performance Analysis: Conducting variance analyses and providing insights into financial performance. Preparing management reports and communicating financial results to both local and corporate management.
What is required:
- Bachelors in Finance, Accounting or Business, MBA or Masters in Accounting Preferred
- 5 + years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in the manufacturing or automotive industry.
- 5+ years in a managerial role, overseeing financial operations and teams, preferably over a large operation.
- Proficiency in cost accounting and financial analysis specific to manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with variety of financial planning systems.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
