CAE Development Engineer

The role of this engineer includes the responsibility for building and running vehicle interior safety system and restraint component level airbag simulation models to support component research and development (primarily for frontal driver/passenger and knee airbags, but potential Side Airbags/Side Curtains). The work would include component level airbag model creation and validation, and occupant safety system level model creation and validation. Potential side impact and rollover modeling work may also be required. Experience using Ls-Dyna for restraint system analysis is required.

What you’ll do:

• Engineer will be responsible for using DOE methods LS-Dyna tool, and Altair Hyperworks pre/post processing tools to create models, such as safety component and system, and conduct optimization or sensitivity studies. 

• The engineer must have excellent problem-solving skills for debugging models and achieving target correlation level within the project timeline constraints

• Responsible for delivering validated component or system LsDyna models.

• Using energy management principles, problem solving methods and working with cross-functional teams, the engineer will create and deliver detailed written reports and verbal presentations of results within the project expected timeline. 

What is required:

• 3-5 years of CAE experience required

• Experience with simulation of automotive restraints modeling is required

• Previous experience using Altair Hyperworks is critical

• Previous experience with pre/post processing software

• Preferred experience in frontal and side crash loadcases

• LsDyna modeling experience is a plus
