What You'll Do
Lead inflator product development activities from concept through validation, launch, and production implementation.
Define and refine performance requirements to meet customer expectations, regulatory requirements, and internal standards.
Develop innovative design solutions that balance performance, manufacturability, cost, and reliability.
Plan, coordinate, and execute prototype builds, testing activities, and validation programs.
Analyze test data and engineering results to identify opportunities for design optimization and continuous improvement.
Partner with CFD, CAE, and design teams to develop robust, high-performing products.
Work closely with suppliers and manufacturing teams to support industrialization and product readiness.
Apply engineering principles, statistical tools, and structured problem-solving methods to resolve technical challenges.
Participate in technology development initiatives that support future product innovation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple global locations to deliver project objectives.
What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
3+ years of engineering experience in product development, research and development, or related technical roles.
Experience with inflators, initiators, airbags, pyrotechnic devices, or energetic material technologies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex technical data.
Experience supporting design validation activities, testing programs, and data-driven decision-making.
Knowledge of GD&T, DFMEA/PFMEA, and structured root-cause analysis methodologies.
Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts and work within global cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
Hands-on experience with pyrotechnic inflator development.
Knowledge of combustion, ballistics, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and thermodynamics.
Experience with engineering tools such as CATIA, SolidWorks, Scilab, Bluesky, or similar software platforms.
Familiarity with automotive product development processes and customer requirements.
