Autoliv ASP, Inc., a world leader in the development and manufacture of automotive safety systems (airbags, seatbelts, etc.) is currently accepting applications for a swing shift Warehouse Supervisor to work at our AWC Columbia City facility.
The Logistics Supervisor position involves overseeing all operations of the warehouse at AWC on second shift. The role includes managing staff across various areas of the facility. The role is responsible for ensuring safety protocols are followed and coordinating with the plants and optimizing warehouse operations. The supervisor will be responsible for meeting customer and supplier requirements, budget management, policy deployment, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What you’ll do:
- Accomplishing budget commitments and logistics objectives
- Manage total cost, quality, and on-time delivery through analysis of data and improving teams performance
- Must be able to evaluate, motivate and coach personnel
- Must have good communication skills
- Must have the ability to translate policy deployment into actions
- Must demonstrated understanding of APS
- Must have some knowledge of HR policies and procedures
- Ensure that safety incidents are thoroughly investigated and effective corrective actions completed
- Ensure that safety and environmental standards are followed
- Ensure APS is practiced at the work site
- Follow-up on corrective actions to completion
- Must have the ability to effectively build and develop relations between departments/functions within Autoliv
- Determines and requests resources as needed.
- Ensures adequate resources, including support personnel, are available and that customer standards are maintained.
- Monitors daily operations of a unit (work team) and actively assists or provides direction to team members as required utilizing established policies and procedures.
- Maintains responsibility for human resources related activities, including employee relations, annual performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
- Handles employment issues where job action (such as formal discipline) may result, involving management and/or Human Resources as appropriate
What is required:
- Availability to work in second shift (1:45 to 10:30 pm)
- Good working knowledge of AutoRelease, Word, Excel and Outlook Express required.
- Working knowledge of a warehouse environment a plus including experience with material handling equipment.
- Degree in Supply Chain Management or high school graduate with 5 years’ experience working in supply chain management.
- APS University graduate.
- Must be willing to work overtime and off hours when needed
