Machine Build Mechanical Engineer Internship – (Admin Facility) Ogden, UT

Position Summary:

Machine Build is an organization that designs, assembles and programs industrial automated equipment for the mass production of airbags for vehicles. Machine Build is offering an internship to gain experience in mechanical design and fabrication. This internship will provide engineering insights as to what is takes to go from a concept to finished product.

On the job experiences will include:

• Following directions from assigned mentor
• Participation in scope of work and design concept reviews with customers
• Create CAD models of machine components using Solidworks 3D software
• Create engineering drawings using GD&T
• Manage drawings packages with EPDM
• Place orders for new components
• Fabricate machined parts from blueprints using saws, CNC mills and lathes
• Assemble machines using hand tools
• Follow assembly blueprints, electrical schematics and pneumatic schematics
• Learn about PLCs and other industrial automation components from experienced Automation Engineers
• Document lessons learned and keep accurate records of projects worked on
• Provide accurate updates on project status and workload situation

Education, Experience and Skill Requirements:

• Working towards engineering / technical degree preferred
• Mechanically inclined
• SolidWorks experience
• DraftSight and/or AutoCAD experience is beneficial
• Ability to work on projects with set timelines and budgets
• Positive attitude and ability to get along with others
• Teamwork and customer service is a must
