The Serial Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is a key role at Autoliv and is responsible for working with external suppliers to develop robust processes and deliver high quality parts. Serial SQE provides production support for ongoing supplier related quality issues. Activities include verification of suppliers’ use of industry standards, Autoliv Standards, review of suppliers’ agreed to production lines/practices, and follow-up with non-conforming materials and events. The SQE will work with internal teams such as Project Launch, Purchasing, Engineering and other Quality teams to plan quality events and resolve issues.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Give direction in measuring and testing product with tabulating data concerning materials, product, for supplier quality and reliability.

• Assist with developing systems, processes, tracking, shipping, poke-yoke, & mistake proofing.

• Proficient in GD&T.

• Evaluate drawings in PLM that support serial production requirements.

• Ensures that root-cause analysis and corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.

• Is knowledgeable in all customer-specific requirements.

• Component drawing review and approval

• Follow up on completion of Serial Supplier Quality tasks in terms of timing and quality for defined deliverables

• Participate in supplier production trial runs and Run at Rate per control level definition

• Perform audits and PFMEA go and see as applicable for new projects or NCM follow up.

• Define the Incoming Inspection / Dock Audit Report template and manage the Interim Inspection Plan at the supplier as applicable

• Provide guidance to supplier deployment of Autoliv Supplier Manual (ASM)

• Support requests for on-site supplier activities from Commodity Supplier Quality and Purchasing team members

• Participate in rating for Supplier Quality Project and responsiveness performance

• Utilize required systems as defined by Autoliv Standards

• Additional projects as requested

Education & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required
• Automotive industry and/or engineering experience preferred
• Willingness to travel and willingness to work off-hours to support customer and business needs
