Autoliv, Inc., a world leader in the manufacture of life saving devices, is currently accepting applications for a paid, full-time engineering internship for the summer of 2022 at Autoliv’s Tremonton Manufacturing Facility (ITO) located in Tremonton, Utah.
Interns will be working with experienced engineers to develop and improve current airbag module components, designs, and assemblies. The intern will be required to build airbag modules and components, perform tests, perform functional and engineering analysis, design components and/or fixtures, collect data, write test reports, prepare and make development presentations under supervision from current engineers. Successful applicants must have strong analytical and communication skills. Must be able to work with minimal supervision, have a good work ethic, and be a team player. Position requires follow through on commitments, and a strong attention for details. Candidate must have the ability to prioritize, and manage multiple tasks.
•Ability to problem solve and support continuous improvement activities.
•Ability to effectively interact with other engineers, technicians and other cross functional team members in performing work assignments.
•Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
•May develop, recommend, and maintain process documentation.
•Confers with management, engineering and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
•Applies statistical methods to design and improve manufacturing methods.
•May problem solve automated equipment and troubleshooting processes.
•May evaluate and implement cost savings opportunities for the equipment and facility. •Have knowledge of computer network systems.
•Must maintain a good understanding of leading edge technology.
•Good equipment/electrical troubleshooting skills preferred.
•May interpret and markup electrical schematics.
•Perform other duties as may be assigned Requirements/Job Experience •Knowledge/Experience in robotics is preferred, specifically Fanuc, Yamaha and Epson •Knowledge/Experience of process/controls (Allen Bradley PLC) system development or product launch experience is preferred.
•Knowledge/Experience programming Allen Bradley PLC’s with an emphasis on the Control Logix platform utilizing Ethernet IP, control panel design, and industrial integration.
•Understanding of Solid Works is a plus
Preference will be given to candidates who are in their junior or senior year of an engineering (mechanical, electrical, automation or chemical) degree.
