Autoliv is currently looking to fill the role of a Project Manager for its Ford Business Unit. This candidate will be responsible for the successful launch of Seatbelt Systems for Ford North American business and support global launches wherein N.A. holds the lead program. In addition, the candidate will be the primary customer contact (internal and external) for all Project Management issues during development.

Responsibilities include:

  • Keep and update timing schedule of activities for the projects.
  • Coordinate the development tasks for the cross-functional team. Define priority for the cross-functional team members.
  • Ensure the Autoliv standards and policies are followed by the cross-functional team members through the all development steps.
  • Propose the product development strategy. Describe the strategy in a development plan. Communicate the strategy across the cross-functional team.
  • Track all engineering changes and their impact on cost, project risk and timing.
  • Track all engineering, product, and tools costs. Meet project budget.
  • Keep the engineering deliverables (DFMEA's, DVP&R's, drawings) current.
  • Communicate and negotiate the specifications and requirements with customer.
  • Support Customer meetings related to the project for technical, timing and deliverable issues during the development.
  • Support internal plant. Attend to major reviews.
  • Ensure successful launches on time at customer and Autoliv assembly facilities by coordinating resources.
  • Ensure prototype deliveries on time according to customer needs.
  • Support global quote activities.
  • Monitor all project timing charts, key milestone dates, and APDS timing.
  • Prepare material and attend tollgate and recommendation meetings.
  • Assume project reporting to management. 

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Business
  • 1 - 5 years of previous Project Management experience in the automotive industry
  • Familiarity with Product Development systems.
  • Experience managing a diverse team with competing interests
  • Ability to provide status updates to internal and external customers
  • Ability to keep project timing on target
  • Strong communication skills, verbal, written and presentation
